Pask its all about replacing food not removing it that way you are not going without anything. Its a lifestyle change not a diet ;)

Hi, Patrice! :)

Umpa is so right about replacements and lifestyle.

I've been living the FTS lifestyle since August 2010, and will NEVER go back to my old ways!
There are simply too many delicious low-carb alternatives to justify it.
Besides, I've haven't been healthier in 30 years thanks to FTS!!! ;D ;D ;D

Hi Patrice! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring me to write in here. I recently got Doug's revised book and  I'm so excited to start this journey. I've been battling with my weight for over 20yrs and I'm sick of being the girl who's the size of a linebacker or as some refer to as "big mama". In the past I've done the meal replacement shakes, master cleanse diet, diet pills, weight watchers, etc. and nothing has worked long term. Lose some but ALWAYS gain it back. :(  I've come to realize having the RIGHT support makes for better results and doesn't make it so easy to quit. So I'm here to cheer you on and hope you'll do the same for me.  :) Ttys

Thanks so much umpa and very nice to meet you! I will definitely check out the board and keep in touch. One question I do have is where do I enter in my weight loss progress? I saw some people that had a chart but not sure how to add one. Let me know when you can. Thanks again!  :) Ttys

Welcome to the FTS family, suzalie!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

I've been living the FTS lifestyle since August 2010.
I'm 62 and have not been healthier in over 30 years! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks to FTS, I'm no longer a type II diabetic with high blood pressure, lousy cholesterol numbers,
and high blood triglycerides.

Here's a link to instructions to add weight loss tickers and avatars (user pictures);

Good morning all! Well I made it through the first week and lost 3 lbs. Expected more, but something is better than nothing. I know my water intake was low, so I'll be drinking more and I definitely need to start a food log of what I'm eating. I can say though low carb eating has me feeling not so bloated which is a good thing and my sugar cravings have eased up quite a bit. Hoping for better results this week. Any feedback for a newbie like me would be much appreciated. Thanks and have a great day! :)

HI, suzalie! :)

3 pounds is a good start! :)

Besides the 20 gram limit, portion control is also very important.
I've been living FTS for over 4 years and still write down what I eat everyday.
Good habits can slip away very easily especially during the holiday season.

Plenty of water and good sleep are also important.
You're going to do great! ;D

That's actually a very good weight loss! Tony is right, lots of water & sleep. What I've noticed that helps with portion control is increase of fats. I'm referring to eggs, avocados, cream, healthy oils like coconut. I have to watch those nuts, they are healthy but have carbs. I shred my own cheese too because pre-shredded cheese has added carbs.

Thank you Tony and Susie! Great advice!! The sleeping part is a little bit of an issue for me. I have sleep apnea and struggle with using my cpap machine so unfortunately I don't get good sleep. The rest I  will definitely work on. Heading out now but will be back on here later. Ttys :)
