I am back on FTS
« on: August 19, 2013, 03:20:48 PM »
Hi to all,
I have been having serious health issues and now my doc says I am diabetic, she did one more blood tests the a1c on that one said borderline, but I have been taking my sugar every morning and it is running high, so today I made the decision to come back to FTS. I have been such a failure, tried so many diets, loose a few pounds than put it back on. BUT I am not giving up.... I know it is possible and I refuse to give up. I loved FTS when I was on it a couple years ago, loved the forum, loved watching Doug cook on youtube, etc, and the weight was coming off till I started going back to my old carb ways. So appreciate your prayers... the journey has begun today.

You're most certainly in my prayers, Rosie! :)

If you just focus on the FTS life shift toward much better health rather than fat to lose,
the pounds will take care of themselves and come off! :) :) :)

As you go through another round of "sugar detox", please reach out to us for help!
Most of us have gone through it (as a tough experience) at least once and learned a few tricks that could help you.

Hi Rosie, welcome back. You know it really takes the "want to" to stick to anything, especially something as personal as an eating plan. We all need a reason for the "want to" A diagnosis of diabetes was all it took for me! I developed the strength immediately to change my ways.

Yes Doug so true!  I have done good on FTS all week and today my morning blood sugar reading was 114. The main thing I notice when doing FTS is I don't get hungry all the time, had to make myself finally eat some breakfast today at 11.

Hi, Rosie!  :)

That's a slightly elevated, but good blood sugar reading for many of us starting out.
Before FTS, mine used to go well above 200 sometimes.
Now, it's around 100 or a little less.

Carbs will cause cravings and an unnatural desire to eat (usually more carbs).
When we stop eating so many, our bodies' "natural" appetites kick in, and we eat less.
Now is the time to learn what your body really needs by listening to what it tells you.

My Food Was Killing Me, Too!!!

Hi Rosie, I'm Elizabeth.....

You're wise to get back on the FTS wagon -- I don't think it matters how we fail, that's yesterday and water under the bridge, the important thing you did was to get back on track.  I'll keep you in my prayers, and please pray for me for my struggles also.

Hang in there !!

And what a blessing it is sharing FTS with those we love.
The gift of good health is one of the greatest gifts we can have in this life.
