couch potato syndrom. no more!
« on: June 12, 2013, 01:36:26 PM »
Hi guys! Well since school let out this past Friday, and after a day of total vegetation    :D I then realized I was slowly becoming a couch potato for yet another summer! And I wasn't happy about it at all!
After Doug gave me the novel idea, just because she cooks it doesn't mean I have to eat it! I have been doing good as far as no starches! (It seems that's all she cooks!)I then realized how very bored I was. So I have started my own small workout routine at home. And I cannot tell you how much better I feel actually doing something, as opposed to sitting on my butt all the time. Good thing is, I can do it whenever I get bored. I take it slow and in small reps. Hope everyone is doing good!

Hi, Shawn! :)

Lazy is a "habit" that's too easy to fall into.
It happens when we don't pay attention to what we are (or are not) doing.

Thanks y'all! It's true, I have had a bit of bad luck past couple of years, but you know? The 'ole saying goes; "you can either let the situation define you, or you can define the situation!"(or well, something like that!)But anyway, I just got to the point where I was tired of feeling sorry for myself and the situation we're in, as far as living with the mil. I know it won't last forever, and it seems hard to pull ones self out of the pity syndrome once you go down that path. Seems like it takes forever to climb out of the rabbit hole, so to speak! But, I am doing better! We have purchaced ;D our own, sort of mini fridge that we keep in our room ;D and we keep all the good stuff in there! AkA; lettuce for wraps, lunch meats etc...So, go ahead and let the mil cook till her hearts content! We have figured out a solution to better ourselves, and it's working ;D
@Umpa, hubby is doing good! He's working two jobs now. Second one is only on his days off Thurs. and Friday. Tow truck guy/mechanic during the week! So he stays pretty busy! But we are "Keeping the Faith and Stayin the Course!" It's been a hard hurdle moving in with the mil, but we have finally figured out how to "survive" with our eating habits and "her" cooking! I'm finally off the 200lb. mark! And into a size 12 jeans again. So alls good around here.

That mini fridge sounds like your FTS salvation! :)

As your health improves and the weight comes off, you guys will be feeling so much better, too!

That's wonderful Stephanie that you have found a way to work out at home.  There is a whole bunch of stuff we can do without having to spend a dime, and there is a ton of info online about exercising at home.  I have a kettlebell I use and the workouts are on youtube for free.  There are also core exercises like the plank (or modified plank) etc.

I admire your determination for not eating the carbs....you're showing who  you really are -- COURAGEOUS in the face of adversity....

Hang in there gal -- we're here for you.
