How do I make Alfredo sauce ?

I know it was on here  but for some reason I can not find it . Maybe I dont know how to spell alfredo  ;D

THanks Tony I dont know why I could not find it . I wonder if I can use the Par cheese in the bottle I do not have any shredded or block ? What do you think ?

Hi Jo! :)

I've used 0 carb Kraft Grated Parmesan (the green & clear plastic container) in a pinch and it works.
As far as pre-mades go, I think Ragu Alfredo Sauce is 2 net carbs per 1/4 cup and also tastes OK.

The block Parmesan cheeses have SO much more flavor... But sadly, they are MUCH more expensive too!
The next best to block is the thick grated Parmesans you find refrigerated in the deli section of the store.

Thanks Tony The store I went to did not have the bag of grated so I will just use the one in the plastic jar . It should be fine thanks for all the help  ;D

Here you go Jo.....

Rich and Creamy Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients   

   1/4 cup salted butter
   1 cup zero carb heavy whipping cream
   1 clove garlic, crushed (1 net carb)
   1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
   1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
   1 teaspoon coarse cracked black pepper


Directions

1.   Melt butter in a saucepan over medium low heat.
2.   Sauté garlic for 1 minute
3.   Wisk in cream and simmer for 5 minutes.
4.   Add cheese and whisk quickly, making sure to melt the cheese completely.
5.   Stir in pepper and parsley and serve.

Without Parmesan, you'll no longer have Alfredo.

A quick Alfredo I've used in a pinch is a wedge of laughing cow garlic and herb, a bit of sour cream (not a lot, maybe tsp and half) and some grated Parmesan. Works great if you're in a hurry

  TIP- Substitute this recipe for any recipe calling for Alfredo sauce. Many recipes call for Bertolli Alfredo sauce from a jar. Although this cuts down on prep time it increases carbs 3 net grams per ¼ cup. Using the above recipe will cut down total net carb count substantially.   ;)

Hi Sarah! :)

So does Costco!... $8.00 will buy a fairly large wedge of domestic Parmesan.
If you buy imported cheese, the slice will be much smaller for the same $$$.

I usually use Kraft Grated Parmesan (in the container) for this recipe.
Much cheaper per cup than the wedges.

Then, I'll "hand grate" wedge cheese for garnish (or topping) on dishes for that special Parm touch.
Those pricey wedges go a lot further this way! ;)
