SF gelatin (jello) without aspartame
« on: February 17, 2011, 11:33:13 AM »
Hi, I'm pretty new to FTS and the site, but  haven't found any posts on this. A lot of folks mention SF jello... But does anyone know of a 'jello' product that doesn't use aspartame?  Thanks!  Kathy

Welcome to the family, FTS_in_NJ!  :) :) :)

If aspartame is a problem for you, buy unsweetened Jello (in the box), make it yourself,
and add your own sweetener (like Xylitol).
It's MUCH cheaper than pre-made prepackaged too!!!  ;)

Otherwise, you could check other brands to see if the do not have aspartame.

Thanks, All, For your very kind welcome and suggestions!  I'm a member of the 700 Club and get their emails. A few weeks ago one had a blurb about Doug's story. I saw his interview and immediately bought his book. GREAT BOOK!  Very easy to read and understand. I'm in the process of buying two for my brothers, and possibly our brother-in-law. This forum is incredibly helpful - could spend hours on here. Thanks for providing so much good information, Doug, and all!  I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but I found another great resource for low-carb recipes and inspiration... www.stellastyle.com. Another amazing story of transformation when changing to a low-carb diet.  Blessings! :)

Hi FTS_in_NJ!  :)

I too was watching the 700 Club in July 2010 when Doug was the guest on one of their "Skinny Wednesdays" programs.

I'm not the type of person that jumps on infomercial type messages or new "diet fads".
Before Doug really got into his message, my first thought was... "Oh Great!... Another fad diet.".

But when Doug displayed how much "hidden sugar" there is in the "normal" foods we eat, and how his program of avoiding them and replacing them with healthy alternatives could help us avoid it and lose weight, I was hooked and have not regretted one single second living this lifestyle.

I am only 1.4 pounds from the "50 pounds Lost Club" thanks to Doug!
I still have a ways to go. But I sure am lovin' the journey!

God Bless You and Yours,
Tony

Hi, Question for Doug... Doug, you mentioned in your book that you like SF jello, but also that you get headaches from aspartame.  Is the small amount that's in jello OK for you, or how do you get around this quandary?   Thanks!  Kathy
