Maltitol/Malitol question

Hi everyone,
I found a lovely recipe for "pancakes" online, will post later, and I had them this morning for breakfast with a Joseph's Sugar Free Maple Syrup.

The Low Carb Grocery said it was 0 carbs and when I looked at the ingredients it said 9g carbs, maltitol 9 carbs = 0 net carbs.

Is maltitol ok to have?

I did a search on it and found that a few of you have had it and have had stomach problems.....which I have encountered today....lol

It will if you eat a lot of it but just with your pancakes you will probably be ok . That is the same thin that is in the russel strovers SF candies . They will slow you weight loss down though if you eat it to much . Doug say the sugar alcohols have to burn before the fat .

I find that very little syrup is needed on pancakes, especially the flax seed pancakes. I melt some butter in the microwave and mix some syrup with the butter..add a bit of nutmeg or cinnamon if you like then using a pastry brush paint the pancakes with the mixture. You can put the remaining mixture back into the fridge and melt it again for the next pancake breakfast.  ;) I also like to use Fifty50 carb free fruit spreads on my cakes..even a shot of whip cream!!! ::) ::)

I have to invest in some flax seed and give those ones a try.  I had some almond meal, so I used a recipe I found using that.....I think I need to tweak the ingredients a little though.

They were really filling though....

I try to eat flaxseed  flour/meal everyday.It keeps me full plus its high in omegas. ;)

I bought some flaxseed meal today, will give the pancakes a whirl over the weekend.   No peanut butter though, not a fan.
