Well we got through our first week of detoxing without killing each other hahah! We have some friendly bets going on. Our first goal is a 3 month check in with whoever loses the most percentage of weight at that point gets a gift of their choice within reason lol !
So Dan and I both lost 10lbs each this week. We are feeling great and ready to jump back in the swing of things 😊

I am down 15.7 lbs so far  and feeling so wonderful! I go back to work Tuesday after being fortunate enough to be able to have been on maternity leave for 6 months. A little anxious about another new routine , with baby , days care , house chores and preparing all of my meals BUT I know in time it will be second nature and I will be sailing through, "just think happy thoughts lol "

Hi gang ! I am down another 2.8lbs this week for a total of 14.1lbs!!! I am so content with our lifestyle and with my life In general . Funny how things are different this time around on "round two" I have let go of the need to "lose a certain amount " each week and am just living the lifestyle, not breaking the rules , asking questions and letting the body to the work !!! Have a blessed Sunday !!

General Discussion / Rotisserie Chicken
« on: March 28, 2014, 07:03:33 AM »
I was really disappointed today and it goes to show that we learn new things everyday on our journey of fts when I picked up a rotisserie chicken from Shoprite to make a chicken salad for dinner . It had been a busy day and I needed something quick . While I was eating it I thought this taste sweet ? Trying to convince myself that it was my dressing I decided to put on it I continued on with my evening . I decided to go on the internet and look up rotisserie chickens and low carb. I was saddened to see people commenting about "dextrose" being used in them . So I made Dan go outside in the trash to check the container and sure enough there was dextrose listed as the 5th ingredient . I would be lying if I said I wasn't upset I was pissed ! lol
I guess more so bc earlier this week I had gotten an Irish cream coffee at dunkin donuts (had been getting them the past week ) and noticed this last time the women pumping something in my coffee cup . I politely asked her what that was and she said oh it's the Irish cream flavor !!!!!😡😡😡😡😡 I was so mad , disappointed , raged and upset. I hate that they can do this and if I didn't go in to get the coffee I would have continued through the drive through and never had known .
Ok I will get off my soap box just wanted to share my lessons learned 😋

In June 2012 I started my journey of FTS. Many of you know my sister was getting married in Mexico and we had purchased the dresses a year in advance because she wanted a specific color that was being discontinued . Needless to say when it came time to wear the dress it didn't fit when they came in a few months before her wedding . In talking with a Coworker by the grace of God she mentioned this lifestyle to me and the rest is history . So fast forward Iost 25lbs at that time got into the dress and needed to have it taken in some !! Well the baby of the family is getting married in two weeks now and when we ordered our dresses I was 7 months pregnant and I couldn't really be fitted for obvious reasons they had to take an approximate guess at my size . The dress came in and I put it on and it for the zipper went up but I could use a tad more room.
Today I went to the seamstress an put the dress on I be hemmed and to my SURPRISE to dress needs I be take in !!! I am only down 12.5lbs but it goes to show that despite all the weight I have left to lose those "measly" 12 lbs mean a lot!! It really was a great feeling today especially that I least expected it . Just wanted to share my joy today 😁😁😁

Dinner Recipes / Hamburger Broccolli Alfredo Casserole
« on: March 12, 2014, 06:20:04 PM »
We had this for dinner tonight and it was extremely good ! I got this off a website called Linda's, so I can not take credit for it :)

HAMBURGER-BROCCOLI ALFREDO CASSEROLE
2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, diced, 2 1/2 ounces
10 ounces frozen broccoli florets
8 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Mozzerella cheese 8oz- optional
In a large skillet, brown the hamburger and onion, seasoning with salt and pepper; drain the fat. Meanwhile, cook the broccoli until tender-crisp; drain very well and season with salt and pepper. Put the cream cheese in a microwaveable bowl and microwave on HIGH about 45 seconds until soft. Whisk until creamy and smooth. Gradually whisk in the cream until smooth, then stir in the parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Mix the hamburger and broccoli in a large, greased casserole, 2 1/2 quarts or larger. Pour in the cream sauce and mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bake at 350º for about 35-45 minutes, until bubbly and browned on top. ( i added the mozzerella cheese 5 minutes before it was done. )
Makes 6-8 servings
