Marty, I am so geared up it's sad. I want the world to know what we have learned here thanks to these 2 sharing and loving people. Bring it on!!! I will bake all night to help someone realize that getting healthy doesn't have to taste like lettuce. LOL I'm really excited because I'm diabetic and I've lost 30 lbs and have gone from 4 injections to 1.  I am healthier now at 61 than at any point in my adult life.

Here's another question about the Romano bread. You said to increase the baking soda and baking powder by 1 tsp but it's not in the recipe at all to begin with. So shall I add those?

We did leave it out and was still good! I didn't change anything else. I might try the vinegar thing though. We are setting up a kitchen in our back yard and it has been a bitch! We finally got OK by the county and they classifying it as an RV. We bought an old concession trailer. The copunty wouldn't let us cook in the house because we have 3 cats. We are "Just Plain Good"LLC and our busiiness guide told us to stay off the web for now till all the kinks are worked out so we are doind everything by email. Hopefully by next week. I spoke to a diet group here called TOPPS about FTS. They all seemed very interested and they have the FTS address so if you have an influx of new women from NC it's my fault. Gotta run open a business account at the bank. LOVE YA'LL!

I'm so sorry this has taken me so long to respond! Crazy things are going on!!!! With Doug's permission we are trying to start selling low carb breads and things are CRAZY WILD! Anyway back to you question about scratched glasses. Unfortunately if you buff out scratches it changes your RX. Soooooo. Isn't it time for new eye exams for both of you ? I'm now working in 3 stores so if you decide to come in I hope you'll let me know so I we can make it a time that I'm around. I guess it's too late to make that cranberry relish for Thanksgiving. LOL

What would happen if we left out the the 4 tsp of vital wheat gluten in the Romano Bread recipe? Wondering if we could make it "gluten free"?

Dear Umpa,
I just finished cleaning up my self and the half of my kitchen that I used to make Garlic biscuits! Whew. What in the world did I do wrong to prevent the batter from "rolling"? I couldn't "roll" my loose batter into anything! I think I know what's wrong but want to make sure because the biscuits are beautiful and taste good. I want to make this often but...not this way again?
The recipie calls for "3 cups pork rinds ground into flour". And the directions state "Put pork rinds in food processor and grind into flour."
I understand what you wrote but....I'm not sure, at this point, that I was supposed to use ONLY 3 cups pork rinds. Did you intend for us to use 3 cups GROUND rinds?
Thank you, thank you!!
Jackie

General Discussion / Just starting to excerise
« on: August 11, 2011, 11:18:48 PM »
I am Type 2 diabetic who with FTS'S help am now controlled! I have lost 35 lbs and am now ready to add exercise. I have been walking 2 miles every other day and have found that mid-walk my blood sugar drops. I have gone from 5 shots a day to 1 and now feel like I need to start decreasing that dosage. ;D I need to eat something before walking and just can't decide what to do. Don't want to mess up my dinner with too many carbs. I'm coming from work and don't necessarily have any protein handy. What can I stash in my car?
