General Discussion / BOB EVANS
« on: August 22, 2013, 12:13:55 PM »
We have Bob Evans in our neck of the woods, last night hubby picked up carry out for us. I choose grilled chicken with green beans and a small salad, gave my bread to my hubby, it gave me a good feeling to not cave in and order my old favorites. Hubby has heart problems and diabetes, I tried to get him to have what I was having but nope he wanted his old favorites. Just wanted to share with you all how wonderful it felt to stay on program, a big victory for me. :)

General Discussion / I am back on FTS
« on: August 19, 2013, 03:20:48 PM »
Hi to all,
I have been having serious health issues and now my doc says I am diabetic, she did one more blood tests the a1c on that one said borderline, but I have been taking my sugar every morning and it is running high, so today I made the decision to come back to FTS. I have been such a failure, tried so many diets, loose a few pounds than put it back on. BUT I am not giving up.... I know it is possible and I refuse to give up. I loved FTS when I was on it a couple years ago, loved the forum, loved watching Doug cook on youtube, etc, and the weight was coming off till I started going back to my old carb ways. So appreciate your prayers... the journey has begun today.

General Discussion / FIRST WEEK BACK....
« on: March 12, 2013, 02:14:45 PM »
Hi ya all, last week was my first week back on FTS. I am happy  ;D to report I had a 10 pound lost when I weighed in on Saturday. yeah.
I been feeling better, so been busy cleaning my house as not much had gotten done we had so much sickness in January and Feb. But maybe that is a good thing maybe all that sickness is what it took to make me realize I have got to change and NOW!
I want to have hours just to soak up all the good stuff on this forum and recipes, etc, as soon as I can find the time.
I got a TON of weight to loose, for sure, but I can already feel a difference in my stomach. This sure works when you are faithful to it.
I tryed a roast with jicama cut up in chunks and brussel sprouts in crock pot on Sunday, the jicama was still too firm, but it ate.  I have never been much of a cook but I am trying.  Love Doug's cauliflower mash recipe , it is so good.
Tonight doing spag. squash for supper.
I been making small pizza,  taking one of those low carb Joseph's pita and putting one T of pizza sauce on it with shredded cheese, baking in oven for  10 min, oh what a great taste that is for lunch.
So I pray you are all doing well. Like Doug says I CAN  I KNOW I CAN I CAN I CAN I CAN !

General Discussion / stopping by to say hello
« on: February 25, 2013, 03:47:38 PM »
Hello ya all, been checking out the post, see many of you are still here that were here back over a year ago when I was on FTS.  I got to admit I have missed ya all!  I wonder where I would be now if I had not quit. I have been pretty sick all winter, just now starting to get over the bronchitis and other problems. I plan to stop by more often, it is such an encouragement when I read your posts and love the recipes you give out. Pray for me that I can find the strength to stay on a diet, my life depends on me losing weight and now.

General Discussion / stopping in to say hello
« on: May 17, 2012, 01:52:15 PM »
Hello ya all,
It's been months since I checked in with you all. I am still fat as a pig and desperate to change, I always find hope when I read your discussions and encouragement. I think where I could of been by now had I not quit your fat to skinny program. I got concerned with my heart when I began to have chest pains and was so fearful I was eating too much high fats, but when I go back to normal foods, trying to watch the calories, oh boy, what a roller coaster ride I seem to stay on.
I still feel like you all are 'old friends' when I read your posts. Keep praying for me . God bless ya all. Rose

General Discussion / Worried need your prayers
« on: December 23, 2011, 10:04:34 PM »
I have not been dieting for the last month or so, not following the fts diet lately, and I went for the dreaded check up today at my doctor today. When I told her how I have lost and gained lost and gained, she tried to talk me into a lapband surgery. I told her NO. I just cannot do that, too afraid.
Than she did an ekg and was not  happy with it, so she has me going next Friday to get a monitor put on my heart for 24 hours.  They took a bunch of blood and I will see her again when all results are back in. She would not really explain what was bad in the ekg, said she'd wait till more tests results are in.  Oh my blood pressure was  really high too so she increased my bp pill oh and did I mention I gained 2 pounds since I saw her a year ago :'( :'( :'(
Needless to say I am so upset. I need all the prayers you all can send my way.

General Discussion / Vera Bradley Products
« on: October 11, 2011, 12:51:16 PM »
Do any of your like Vera Bradley products?  I have loved her purses and things for years, they are the only ones I buy.  I was wanting something nice to take with  me when I go places to keep my FTS foods in such as diet pop, and pita bread, nuts, etc.  I found the Vera cooler in poppy fields pattern today is marked down to 14.99 and so is the lets do lunch in poppy fields so I ordered them both to use for my FTS things when we go places.  Lots of patterns are on sale today, just depends which color you like.  WWW.verabradley.com  than type in lunch in search.
I had a bigger cooler I had packed a few times when we were going out somewhere, but it was just too big. I find that if I go prepared all goes well but if I do not than I eat things I should not of had.

General Discussion / another week of no loss
« on: October 09, 2011, 07:48:30 PM »
Pretty disappointed when I weighed in today to find no loss no gain, stayed the same yet again. This week I have got to re-read Doug's book and try to start at square one again.
Had way too many carbs this weekend too, as family was here and I felt stressed.
Oh well tomorrow is a new day and I shall not give up. ;)
