Our grandson Jackson has the flu (just turned 5 in January).  Jackson took a flu shot several months ago, but the doctor says he has the flu.  We are keeping his brother Carter (19 months old) over the weekend to hopefully keep Carter well.  I would appreciate it if my "FTS Family" would pray for our precious Jackson to get well asap.  THANKS!!!

If we could only remember that the stomach doesn't really care what goes in it (unless we have a special medical condition) and Americans can consume food pretty fast -- but the bottom line is "our hips (ladies) will tell on us !!!
Make good choices today and see the results tomorrow !!!  Have a great day !!!

"Extra" Chewing Gum -- especially the flavor "key Lime" is very satisfying!  I also like the Classic Bubble gum flavor.  If you need something to chew on -- try this!!!  Have a great day!

I'm having few good days and then a bad day.  Trying to stay on the FTS program, but Baptists are always eating at every church function -- or it seems like it!  Does one bad sugar dessert send me back to starting all over?
Have a great day!

All the "healthy" flours are new to me.  Can someone please tell me if one brand is better than another in taste and/or cooking???  THANKS!  Have a great day!

« on: December 28, 2010, 12:55:18 PM »
Too many temptations and I gave in -- guess I fell off the wagon with a few other FTS family members.  Starting over as of yesterday (Mondays are good days to start fresh!)  The sugar headache is almost over -- yeah!  Looking forward to warmer days and new spring clothes!  Happy New Year Everyone!!!

General Discussion / Tastykakes have disappeared in SC!
« on: October 20, 2010, 12:46:40 PM »
Does anyone buy the low carb tastykakes?  Wal-Mart, Publix, etc. are no longer carrying them in SC.  Are they going out of business?   Thanks for your input!
Have a great day!

General Discussion / Re-Train Your Mind About Food
« on: September 24, 2010, 10:34:48 AM »
Our stomachs don't really care what goes into it!  It is our minds "telling us" that we want food -- and more food.  Have you heard the saying, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs?  We need to re-train the way we think about food.
Remember, food is the fuel to keep our bodies healthy and moving.
Have you heard the saying:
One bite of sugar/junk food is too many because it opens the "flood gates" of craving.  Then 1,000 bites of sugar are not enough!
Make wise food choices and see the inches and weight come off!  Take care!
Have a great day!

General Discussion / America - The Beautiful !!!
« on: September 21, 2010, 02:31:54 PM »
If you have not visited a national park in the USA, you OWE it to yourself and loved ones to take the time to visit them and make wonderful memories for a lifetime !!!  The trip to Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks was wonderful in so many ways!  One reason I really enjoyed this trip is that I had lost about 30 lbs. through the last year and totally enjoyed walking/hiking (with less weight on my body !!!)  Yes, I did think of Doug and Umpa when eating out!  It was great to return home and NOT have 10 extra/new lbs. to deal with!  The FTS program is truly a one day at a time program for me.  I try to eat healthy just for this day.  Thanks for all your words of encouragement and sharing!  Take care!

Yes, I have been on WW numerous times throughout 39 years and I have lost weight -- but I gained it back and then some -- because it was not a life-style change.  Since I have reduced my sugar and carbs count drastically each day on the FTS program (and from my old "life-style of eating"), I'm wondering how the WW members are losing weight since they take in sugar each day from fruits, vegetables, etc. plus they can have breads, potatoes, pasta, etc. ???
I'm thanking you Doug, in advance, for your comments!   ;)
