« on: September 20, 2011, 04:03:35 PM »
Hi Umpa I am looking for a good low carb pesto sauce or to make my own.

This may be another dumb question. I love pesto more than candy.  ::)

Pesto cauliflower pizza sounds so good!

Lean On My Shoulder / Help please.
« on: August 02, 2011, 02:32:27 AM »
Eating the FTS way in my house is not always easy, it has been very hard some times. Wife and daughter eat regular diet and do not want to hear about what I think is best. I missed my calling. I like to preach  ::) My wife has done Atkins before with success. She says it is to hard to stick with. She hates veggies  :-\ go figure. Likes meat, potatoes and romaine lettuce along with lots of starchy stuff rice etc etc. Her sister lives with us has full blown type 2 and lives on candy sodas and everything she should avoid, she is a grown up and can eat what she wants. My house has a wide range of stuff I do not eat or want, drives me crazy.
I have faltered a little "not bad" but am going to get back on track 100%! I have never felt better than when I followed Doug's plan. So to get to the point I am going to be checking in and asking for support like only this forum can give. I know I can do this, just not on my own. Thanks for the shoulder.

Sides and Snacks / Almond Butter
« on: December 01, 2010, 04:38:40 PM »
I made almond butter yesterday in the food processor. Grindy thingy beebs.  ;D
I had to scrape and grind to get butter consistency on almond butter, came out very good.
1 cup dry roasted almonds 1/4 stick real butter and a little stevia "very little" Has to go in the fridge after making. Cheaper than buying it at Costco.

Then slather on flax toast yum.

General Discussion / Long time!
« on: November 14, 2010, 12:34:56 PM »
I fill like I have been away for ever. I am still living the F2S lifestyle nothing has changed food wise in my life. I have lost a little more weight just not trying as hard as before.

Work has been a nightmare. The company I work for is sliding down the hill and picking up momentum. Not sure how much longer we will be open. Weeks days who knows. Oh well  ::) what ya gonna do.

I have not gained any weight back thanks Doug & Umpa for the lessons and everyone else . My wife is finally seeing what a difference the F2S makes and is trying to watch her sugar intake.

Hope ya all have a great Thanksgiving!

« on: July 06, 2010, 08:03:13 PM »
Here is my question Umpa, I picked up some tofu today to make cheese and Mac
I noticed the
carb count 5
fiber was 1
sugar 0
protein 14

That's 4 carb for a 3 oz serving did I get the wrong tofu? I am trying to keep my carb count low low low.

General Discussion / Milk Question
« on: June 21, 2010, 08:12:42 PM »

Could you take a 1/4 glass of heavy cream add the ice cold water and mix.  ;D Might that take care of your milk fix I think it's very close to the same thing. Just 0g of carbs.

General Questions / Sunday Commentary
« on: June 20, 2010, 02:58:55 PM »
I get disappointed some times because I seem to lose weight slower than others. I remember I didn't puff up like a blowfish over night it took me a long time to get to the point I was at. I also forget how bad I felt before cutting sugar out forever. I now fill better than I have in many years all my health problems are gone. At least most of the way. No more diabetes I heal real fast now. I fill like a new person. I'm almost at the point I can hold a old pair of my pants up and fit into one leg. I just want to say don't get discouraged. Keep looking forward and we will all get there.
                         My Andy Rooney imitation.  ;D ;D ::)

General Discussion / Salsa Justification
« on: June 20, 2010, 12:32:30 PM »

              OK,
Here is another one of my crazy post ::) I'm making my breakfast I'm having chicken with a little mozzarella and salsa, all no carb or so I thiink. I'm at work and forgot my glasses so I cant read the label on the salsa. I already know the cheese is O carb and the chicken is also safe. I have a coworker read the label. It reads 1g carbs Og fiber and 1g sugar. Now I start to think ::) "Hence my problem" this salsa tomatoes garlic and onions, cilantro assorted peppers one of the last items preservative's. So to justify loading up with salsa I came up with this.

Salsa ingredient's has fiber isn't that correct? The label is miss marked!!! >:( so the carb count would be lower. Isn't that correct?
