General Discussion / Beans, I found a good one
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:36:02 AM »
I have been spending so much time in the grocery stores reading labels it is becoming a pasttime. Sometimes it really pays off. I found some beans made by UNICO they are called LUPINI BEANS. They have 16g of carbs and 16g of fiber. You have to love eating the 0 things. If you have high BP it does have 41% sodium. I guess nothing is perfect.

Sides and Snacks / 'candied' pecans
« on: December 01, 2010, 02:12:16 PM »
Here is another recipe for candied pecans

3 cups pecans
4 egg whites beaten with fork
4 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp xylitol or sf syrup

Place pecans in a bowl with the egg whites. Stir to coat pecans with egg whites. Scoop out the pecans, and put them in a ziplock bag or bowl containing the cinnamon, and xylitol. Shake to coat.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a 350 oven for about 20 min. Gift idea-put in a nice container and share with friends.

I feel life Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Instead of tapping my heals together saying "there is no place like home" I am tapping my knife and fork together saying "I will not go on meds, I will not go on meds." Doug and Umpa you are our wizards. Thanks.

Events, Announce Events Here / Wild Blueberry Juice
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:33:23 PM »
I have had several people tell me that WILD BUEBERRY JUICE will lower your blood sugar, but as I investigated it does have lots of carbs. Has anyone else heard this or is it just a tale. I am not dealing with the carbs it has to offer.

Well, the social scene challenged me and I won. Went to a friends birthday celebration at a Pub. No nachos, no drinking, lots of dancing. My morning sugar was 5.6.  ;D

Click Here To Share Your Success Story / Unconditional Support
« on: October 21, 2010, 10:03:02 AM »
In the past I have received CONDITIONAL support for weight loss as long as the cheque was in the mail. It is quite uplifting to know that there is support out there JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE CARE. I have received support from people that don't even know me because they are good people and want to help. This gives us a new faith in humanity. Thanks for the support it is very well received. It is nice to hear "GOOD JOB" from someone that is not being  PAID TO SAY IT. Your success inspires us all.

Click Here To Share Your Success Story / I'm a newbie
« on: October 20, 2010, 01:51:25 PM »
I am a newbie and proud of it. I started a few weeks ago and have already lost 10 pounds, and my sugars are looking better. I am thankful for the support. When life forces us to change we need support or we fall back into the same routines. I have done several diets in the past, some successful, some not. They have always made me want to go to bed at 7pm, because I had already eaten the food for the day. This is not the case with FTS. I can stay up as late as I want because food is not CALLING ME FROM THE KITCHEN. I don't feel the urge to eat because I feel satisfied.
