Don't worry my friend, you've taken the first step by joining this forum. The members here will hold your hand AND kick your butt. Your job is to get back the "want to" then re-read FAT TO SKINNY and get serious about the program.

Now tell us...what are you going to do?   Are you in or ar out?
e you

Hi Everyone ~ well... my first week has been rough going. Got back into my old eating habits and felt really sick to my stomach. Should have listened to my body telling me to stop what you're doing... cause it's not working anymore. Red lights flashing... but thankgoodness tomorrow is a new day and I don't want to lie to myself. But to be mindful of what I'm eating and putting into my mouth. The past is gone... tomorrow will be better and my future is hopeful. Thanks for listening. I can do this!!!

Blessings

Our son called and said Jackson is feeling better and sleeping/resting many hours.  Carter is entertaining us and come Sunday night we will be ready for extra sleep too!
THANK YOU for praying!!  It is very comforting to know we can bring other "issues" to this forum other than "food issues".  May God bless you and your family!

Susie

SouthCarolinaLady ~ greetings. Sorry to hear that your Jackson has been ill. I will keep him and your family in my prayers! Heard that there's a new strain of flu going around. So Be careful. One of my close friends had it and was bedridden for 3 weeks... couldn't talk. Now she's over it and recovering.

Blessings ;)

General Discussion / Re: What did you eat for breakfast today?

Thanks everyone for posting your breakfasts! You've all been a great support and been very helpful.  I actually had a successful eating day and I was able to stay under the 20g carb allowance, and I wasn't hungry. That's was a first. It's going to take a few weeks to get used to eating this way, but it won't be complicated. Will have to adjust to preparing and packaging food ahead of time, but it will be worth the effort. Thanks.

Blessings  ;D  Hugs

Take care. ;)

General Discussion / What did you eat for breakfast today?
« on: February 12, 2011, 01:23:17 PM »
Good morning ~ I'm a newbie and just joined this forum yesterday. Just read the book last night and want to know what any of you had for breakfast today. Because I know that breakfast is one of the most important meals in the day. I know that we can have eggs, so I fixed myself up 2 poached eggs with salt and pepper. They're easy to make and I used olive oil in the cups, so that the eggs would slip out nicely. They were really awesome!!! Before this I was going to A&W and have their clasic breakfast most mornings, but now that I have the knowledge of sugar in toast, it makes me think twice about what I'm consuming on a daily basis. Anyways, instead of rambling here, I wondered if anyone could please post some breakfasts that would be helpful for a newbie like me. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have a wonderful day!!! ;)

Hi ~ I just read Doug's personal story. It sounds like he was given a Divine Purpose to stay alive and help others. I assume that If he hadn't gone through with the surgery, his life would have ended without the book being published. I believe that things happen for a reason and the legacy that Doug was given was from above, which is an important one. To know what our purpose in life is and when we find it, puts us on a new spiritual level of understanding and caring for one another. Any Comments for Discussion?

mouseissue ~ the Lord's timing is perfect! He does things behind the scenes to make our lives better. And it's very reassuring to know that he's with us always. I'm sure that when I read Fat to Skinny... I will be blessed. Our temples (bodies) are not our own but we're to take care of them. I too thank Doug for Fat to Skinny. Shows that he cares. ;)

God bless

General Questions / Re: Newbie Question: does it work?
« on: February 10, 2011, 01:11:51 AM »
Hi everyone ~ thanks for the welcome and your answers! Now I'm starting to believe that it does really work. When I get to reading the book... I will begin my journey from sugar to healthy eating. It will be wonderful feeling to be 'free' from cravings carbs... which have been troublesome over the years. I have much to learn.

Doug ~ thanks for saying YES. I heard you talking about sugar... and was amazed at how much the average person consumes in a year. EEK! What a wake up call that was. It got me thinking... do I consume that much SUGAR? YIKES!... then I said to myself... I got to do something about this. Thanks.

Umpa ~ thanks for sharing. I will check out your column... as I've always wanted to convert yummy recipes into healthy ones. Cheers!
