General Discussion / Still alive in Alabama
« on: May 16, 2011, 09:54:27 AM »
Doug, I haven't been on here lately. As you know Alabama has been literately blown away. There is now way for you to imagine the total devastation in our state right now. Please keep Alabama in your thoughts and prayers. And if at all possible give anything will help. Money, clothes, blood, anything. got on the scale this morning and had gained 4 lbs. When you are out there working you get what you can. Also we have had 3 people living in our  house which also makes it harder to cook what you need. Going to get back on track today and get back going. Please, Please, Please if you read this post do not forget the people affected by these storms. Thanks Richard

Not hungry. I thought by this time I would be already through detox. Had an injury trying to do things maybe I shouldn't have been trying yet and having to take a real high powered antibotic maybe it's just the medicine that I'm taking. Thanks guys.

Umpa did Doug ever in his time get really short with you. My wife asked me this morning to go and find her sweet husband because the last couple of days he has not been here.

Wow Doug,at the same beach we were at last year. Last year my wife wanted me to walk  on the beach with her and I couldn't make it over about 500 yards, we just got back to the beach house after a 4 mile walk on the beach. Doug you just don't know how much you are changing my life. Thanks

General Questions / Re: count carbs and calories? or just carbs?
« on: March 16, 2011, 08:50:01 PM »
Try less than 10carbs a day and see what happens? I have been doing that since Janurary and its been amazing. Dougs book made me hate not only sugar but also carbs. I really think their nasty.

Stay the course girl. I didn't  weigh for the first two weeks and then I have weighed weekly and sometimes I have wished I hadn't. It sometimes makes you confused when you try harder and get less. Believe when I tell you follow what Doug has in the book, don't stray and it will blow your mind. iT HAS MINE

Doug, haven't been on hear lately. I thought i would let you know that since the 2nd week in January I have lost 52 pounds. The thing that you didn't let me know is how much money I will be spending on new clothes even my shoes are getting too loose. Dr is not believing it either that a person that will be 60 in June is doing this without starving. He is wanting to do a blood profile on me. Is this necessary? Thanks Doug you are saving my life. And in the last 3 weeks I have gotten 4 other people on this life style change. This weekend I worked on the farm like a 30 year old. No joke my wife had to stop me. Having a ball

Only 4 lbs this week. 5 week total 45lbs. Got a little discouraged with the 4 so that afternoon I hit the wellness center after minutes on the tread mill and 120 crunches I weighed again this morning and had lost 1 more pound. So I hope I can figure this right 3 days of workout and 4lbs will equal 7 lbs and I can be more excited. Hope so anyway.

After 4 weeks 41 lbs 6 inches in my waist, feeling like I'm 30 instead of 59 and a half. This is as good as any drug you can buy. Doug if I had known this was goiing to happen I would have paid 500 dollars for your book.

It was a missprint. I find myself being not hungry. Just weighed in and 4 weeks 41lbs. The reason for the goal of 100 by june is that we are taking a group of high school kids to nothern Italy and it just so happens that we are going to be in Venice for our 40th aniversary and I thought the best thing I could give her was a new me. If it keeps going like this I may change that goal to 120. But I just have one question, what kind of exercise will tighten my stomache and below my belt in the front? Also the belt loss is now 6 inches.

General Discussion / question to Doug
« on: February 07, 2011, 08:54:02 PM »
You answered my post last week. Thanks, this last week I have limited my total carb count per day to 10. Also limiting portion sizes. I am having a ball doing this and have lost 33 lbs in first 3 weeks. I find myself being hungry. Also have lost 5 inches in my waist. Feeling great doing it. Doug I want to lose 100lbs in 6 months. The question is am I hurting anything by such a low carb count?
