One year ago today I cleaned out my pantry and logged on to this site. I posted my first post (see the link below) and declared I was going to change my life. I am proud to say a year later and 170 pounds lost FOREVER, that I am very glad I made that change. I have gone from a size 32 to a size 16 in one year. That is more than HALF my size! I still have a ways to go but I have to tell you I am THRILLED to be a size 16!! I have made some amazing friends on this site, learned about eating correctly and changed my life for the better. I want to thank you all for listening to me complain, bitch, moan, threaten to bury the scale, laugh and be amazed when it all works out. You are all great friends and I thank you for supporting me through this past year. ;D

I remember when you first came.I wasn't sure you were gonna make it cause you disappeared for a little while.Now here you are the most successful person we have ever had on Fat to Skinny! I love your tenacity and strength. You did all this with no exercise proving there is no excuse for anybody that truly wants to lose weight (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) and get healthy.I am very proud of you my friend ;D

You are a whole new person and it is all because of this program and what YOU chose to do with it. It reminds me if I work mine with more diligence I can too make a big difference in my life.

You are so sweet. It really is all just about FTS and following it. I have tried every diet in the world from Jenny Craig to Atkins and I just couldn't do it. Finally with FTS it all clicked. I really think the big thing is not feeling like I'm missing out on anything. Somehow Doug has put together a lifestyle that works and allows us to eat fun stuff and loose weight. I am eternally grateful for his book and how it's changed my life. I went from hiding at home to being the one that now instigates going out and trying new things.

Hi Sherrie Pie! I first want to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! WOOOOOO!!!!! ~doin a happy dance for you~
Second I want ot say THANK YOU! June 1st will be my one year anneversery...with an 8 month hiatus..there were many many reasons for this, but no excuses for sure.
I am kicking myself for ever stopping, I had lost 50 pounds in 3 months with no excersize! Now I am back in the game, and I not looking back! I went from a 22 to a 14, and I cried! I never thought I would ever be small again!
Excuse, I tend to talk in exclamation..I get so excited hehehe :D I also have a ways to go, but being a part of the FTS family is definatley helping me on the second leg of my journey. I thank God that I have changed enough of my eating habits to not gain any weight back WHEW
YOU my darling, are a major inspiration to me today, and for that I thank you yet again :)

Little update....only five pounds away from my final goal! 195 lost!
A month or so ago I thought I might try to loose another 20 or so but I am learning I'm really happy where I am right now. So I think when I hit the final five gone I'll learn about maintaining. I can't believe it's almost done!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I've too toyed with the idea of adjusting my goal weight.
But I think the wisest thing to do is see how I look and feel as I approach it.
I went underweight by about twenty pounds in my early 20s. I looked gaunt and felt weak.
After putting the 20 back on, I felt and looked much better.
The sad part was, I did not stop at 20 because I was not living an FTS lifestyle.
I did not know how to readjust my eating patterns to maintain my "ideal" weight and be satisfied with what I was eating.
My current goal weight is set to my "ideal" weight when I was in my early 20s.
Being much older, I may reach my new "ideal" before I reach my current goal.
But I'll consider crossing that bridge as I approach it.

That's wonderful! I felt the same way and decided to hang out at my size 8 for a while and see how I feel. Weight fluctuates a few pounds up and down but I feel good. Hey isn't that a song? lol I still need to do something about my upper body flab on my arms. It seems to be the last to go but it's better. Maybe another 10lbs and we'll see.

Does Bio Oil really work?
I have some stretch marks that I've been carrying around for a number of years.
Although some are disappearing with my weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/), others look like there with me to stay.
They really look bad when I get a sun tan.
If this stuff will reduce or eliminate them, I'd be super happy! :)

All I can say is that my neck and arms are not as saggy as they were. I'm in my early 50's so my skin is not as elasticky as it used to be so I think this is helping. I put it on shortly before I go to bed each night. I also used it a few years ago on a scar from surgery. It didn't totally take away the scar but it is not very noticeable.

I think with FTS it's never the end. I just continue on, maintaining and being thrilled that I am not in that same boat that I used to be. Now my husband and son are on the program. Both are about 15 pounds away from their goal. I owe Doug and Umpa so much thanks. This book and lifestyle saved me and I really like who I've become.

Since you are a writer, did you blog or diary about your weight loss (http://www.fattoskinny.com/) and whaat you were eating, not eating, doing, exercising, feeling, thinking during the time you were losing? If you did, I think I would enjoy reading it for insights that might possibly help me on my FTS journey.
