Updated ticker.
2  General Category / Click Here To Share Your Success Story / New Ticker Numbers on: January 05, 2013, 08:44:54 PM
I decided to start my ticker over for this year rather than keep the same numbers I've had since 2010. I had already lost a good bit, but I don't want to focus on that and get complacent. I want to start fresh and stay motivated, excited about watching that ticker move again....

Happy New Year to all of you.

The CT scan results stated "minimal calcification of the intracranial carotid siphon(s?)"

They didn't think it was a problem.

They think possibly electrolytes were too low and/or dehydration.  Not really sure.

Hi, everyone! I am still here, but since school started back about 6 weeks ago, I have been swamped.  I had to slow down a little bit this week when I ended up at the emergency room..... Not sure what exactly happened. Had trouble thinking, and then the right side of my body went weak, tingly, and numb. Speech was strange and I couldn't stay awake. I kept feeling like my throat was swelling shut, too.  I am fine now, but fighting my first cold since March of 2010 when I quit sugar.   I forgot what it feels like to be sick.

I remember reading an article about Alzheimer's & dementia being considered as a type of diabetes.  I may have posted it on here somewhere.

It is 20 net carbs per day.  Start with carbs and then subtract fiber and also subtract any sugar alcohols.

Looks pretty good. I was wondering, though, if your cheese slices are Pre-packaged as slices or if you are slicing them. Just be sure to check all labels. I have Ben amazed at the crbs in meats and cheeses sometimes.

You are off to a great start!

Today, I saw one of the teachers who borrowed a book.  He is so proud of himself. He has lost 20 pounds so far.

We started with the books near the end of the school year, but I did see many students reading labels more often.  They also were bringing water bottles to school instead of bottles of juice or nothing. I also had several teachers ask to borrow a book for the summer.

Hey, Umpa! I am doing well, thanks.  Are you enjoying our super hot summer in the mountains?

I just came back from a family reunion. It was a food rest, like you have described, Suzanne.  The amazing thing is that when my family saw the changes in me, they suddenly were supportive of my FTS life style.  Many of them asked me questions about how I have made such healthy changes in my life. It ended up not being the problem I thought it might have been.

I used salted butter and it wAs fine.
15  Recipe Exchange / Sides and Snacks / Re: Pizza Recipes-add yours on: June 28, 2012, 07:34:43 PM
My most recent "pizza" has been to lay out pepperoni on a paper towel covered plate and to put a torn piece of provolone cheese on each slice.  Then I nuke it for about 30 - 35 seconds to melt the cheese. It satisfies my pizza cravings and for ZERO carbs.
